Our Bride Liz

It's Thursday, so for all you Social Network savvy people, you know that
it's a perfect day to do a "Throwback."

We love showing you Brides that have gotten married a little while back because
we want to show you that when you choose a classic style for your Wedding, like our
beautiful Bride Liz here, your look will never date itself.

Liz has been married for six years now, but she looks like she could have
gotten married yesterday.

She chose a classic silhouette that is always going to be popular in the Bridal World and
paired that with soft hair and makeup.

Some other facts about Liz's gown?

It was on Sale and it was strapless when she purchased it!

So, not only is she beautiful (and seriously, one of the funniest people you will ever meet)
but she is a savvy shopper and designed those sleeves on her gown with the help
of our Seamstresses.

Also, finding a great photographer that will take classic shots is key.
Matt Christensen Photography took Liz's photos and did a great job.

But don't all of our parents have one of these shots on their Wedding Albums?

This photo just gets better the more you look at it.

We're not quite sure how the floating head thing started sounding like a good idea,
but there are some poses going around right now that are going
to be the equivalent of this one in 20 years.

If your photographer wants to try something new and funky, go ahead and try it, but just leave it out of your album so that your Children don't find it one day and plaster it all
over social media.

Sorry.

We kind of got off topic.

Anyway, the theme of this post is:
"Classic Is Key" if you don't want to look dated.

You looked gorgeous Liz!

Thanks for dustin' off the old Wedding Photos!

Our Bride Caity

We just wanted to say congrats to our darling
Bride Caity.

She chose a beautiful lace Maggie Sottero gown for her special day.

To add a little sparkle, Caity chose to add a small belt at the smallest part of
her waist.

This gown looked like it was made for Caity and it kind of was.

By adding the belt and doing a few alterations to make the gown exactly how she wanted it,
she made it a gown that only she will wear.

Congrats Caity!

You make a beautiful Bride.

Guest Post: Doing This One Thing Will Make Your Bridal Appointment. Not Doing It, Will Break It

Today we are bringing you a post from our Sister Store,
The Brides' Shop.

Alex Davis, who has worked for our company for over 15 years, will fill you in on what she believes is the most important thing you can do when shopping for your gown.
Oh and you didn't know we had a Sister Store?
We do, and it's just a 15 minute drive from our Shop.
After you read this, go check out their website and blog by clicking >here<, their Instagram by clicking >here< and their Facebook by clicking >here<.
Enjoy this VERY important post.
I am standing there in the middle of our shop where an MOB (Mother of the Bride) is screaming at me.
When I say screaming I'm talking about high pitched, veins coming out of her neck, Real Housewives kind of screaming.

It was terrifying.
As I am standing there with a pleasant look on my face patiently waiting for her to calm down and get everything out so that I can help them, I knew I wasn't the only person she had done this to today.
The mother then looks at the Bride who is eyeing the dress of her dreams in my shop and tells her that they are leaving and never coming back again and that they are going to tell all of their friends never to shop here.
The door slams and I go back to the Bride I was helping before they came in and she looks at me and says thank you.
Do you want to know what happened?  What I said?  Well, here it is.
"Hi Ladies, how are you?  Do you have an appointment with us today?"
Pretty shocking, huh?
They were angry that they did not have an appointment and that I was already helping a Bride and wouldn't have a room available until later that day when I would have loved to help them.
The reason the Bride I was helping said thank you?  She had just been to a shop that only did Walk-Ins and got zero time and attention.
I wish that I could say that this was the only time that this ever happened, but it has happened a lot.
Can you see what I'm getting at here?
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO TRY ON DRESSES!!
Why, you ask?
1.  The shop will be expecting you and your room will be ready and waiting.
2.  You will have your Bridal Consultant to yourself and they will wait on you hand and foot.
3.  The shop will already know what gowns or types of gown you will want to try on because of the phone conversation you had prior to your appointment.
4.  You will be able to cut any stress you might have in half.
And most importantly...
5.  You deserve it.  You deserve to have the best possible experience with all of the bells and whistles.
Let's rewind to how you make your appointment.
Give us a call at The Brides’ Shop at (801)322-4324 and we will set up an appointment at a time that works best for you.
Easy, huh?

STAY AWAY FROM SATURDAYS IF YOU CAN!
Saturdays are ridiculous for all Bridal Shops.  They are so busy and have so much going on that everyone is kind of running around like chickens with their heads cut off.  If you are at a really great Shop, you will never know how stressed they are behind the scenes, but it will still be kind of crazy.
Take a day off of work and spend that whole day going to different shops and trying on gowns.
Best days to go try on gowns?  Tuesdays and Thursdays.
So what did we learn today?

Get on the horn ladies and make your appointments!
I promise you'll be glad you did.

And so will your mom.

Our Bride Brianna

Even though, here at The Perfect Dress, we specialize in taking
strapless gowns and adding seamless sleeves that look like
the dress was made that way,
we still get Brides that want a low maintenance gown that is ready
to wear.

And that was what our Bride Brianna was looking for, so we
delivered.

Even though the gown was ready to wear the day she purchased it, she still wanted to
make the gown her own.

She picked out a beautiful jewel and pearl belt that our Seamstresses added to her gown,
along with buttons going down the back.

"The staff was amazing in making me and all the girls there feel special and important. The Perfect Dress literally had my Perfect Dress!"

Congrats Brianna!

We loved working with you.

Our New Design

Remember our raw silk Blank Canvas Gown that we designed?
(Please disregard the disco carpet.)

This is one of our most popular gowns in the store right now.

We know how creative you Brides are and we know that you have a vision for what you want your gown to look like.

This gown (which does not include the metal bow belt in the photo)
can be turned into the gown of your dreams.

With our Seamstresses, you can shorten the sleeves, add a belt, add lace, add beading, change the neckline...
the list goes on and on!

Brides have loved this gown so much, that we decided to create another
Blank Canvas silhouette.

We created a raw silk, ball gown (belt not included) that you can design into your dream gown!

And do you know what makes this gown even better?

Pockets!

This gown is even beautiful all on its own.

So if you're the creative type and want to design a gown that no one else will wear,
come see us at The Perfect Dress and we can help
you bring your design to life.
